— The Words Behind our Community —
Over the course of my last two trimesters at Northwood School, I created an independent study on the different languages that are spoken in hopes that all students in this community learn from each other to grow hand in hand. We are extremely lucky to live in such a rich environment, surrounded by such a diverse community. I hope that this information and these videos will open people's eyes to the chance they have to be emerged in such a community every day. I hope that our school will no longer see different words as a barrier from each other but as a way to create deeper bonds and a stronger community.

— A little history about our community —
From 1905 to 2020, Northwood School is a boarding school in Lake Placid that is home to students from 24 international countries and 18 States. The combination of these places brings a total of 16 different languages spoken in the community. Northwood gives students a chance to be surrounded in a culture created from so many different places around the world. Northwood fosters a place were students can learn from each other and grow with each other to create a unique community.
